Leduc, Alberta – Leduc RCMP in partnership with the City of Leduc Enforcement Services have concluded their two months of Project REV’N targeting vehicles with modified and/ or excessive loud exhaust systems on the road, as well as vehicles that contribute to excessive noise from excessive speed in Leduc.

As a result of Project REV’N, Leduc RCMP and the City of Leduc Enforcement Services conducted a number of proactive and targeted patrols using both education through traffic violation notices and enforcement. Traffic violation notices provide the vehicle driver the opportunity to repair the vehicle equipment violation within a specified timeframe instead of facing a fine. The project resulted in 35 interactions with the public in relation to excessive vehicle noise.
Throughout the project peace officers observed vehicles with no exhaust systems, modified mufflers and in one instance the driver of the vehicle was fined for stunting under the Traffic Safety Act resulting in a fine of $567.
Leduc RCMP and the City of Leduc Enforcement Services are committed to ensuring our streets and highways are safe for all road users.
