Regina, Saskatchewan – (September 26, 2022) The 13 year-old youth arrested in relation to Friday morning’s incident at F.W. Johnson Collegiate, faces five charges.
On Friday, September 23, 2022, at approximately 9:15 a.m., police were notified of a youth at F.W. Johnson School with a firearm. The school was put into lockdown and elementary schools in the area were placed in Secure-the-Building protocol. The school was cleared, and no one was found to be physically harmed. Investigation led police to a residence on the 1300 block of Fleet Street where two youths were arrested there. Officers located the firearm believed to have been used in the event and determined it to be an Airsoft firearm.
A 13 year-old female, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
2 X Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)];
Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
Use of a Firearm During Commission of Indictable Offence [CC 85(1)(A)]; and
Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90].
The youth appears in Provincial Youth Court this morning, September 26, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
Regina, Saskatchewan – A 13 year-old youth is in custody in relation to this morning’s incident at F.W. Johnson Collegiate, which was the subject of a previously issued news release.
On Friday, September 23, 2022, at approximately 9:15 a.m., police were notified of a youth at F.W. Johnson Collegiate with a firearm. Information received was that a youth pointed the firearm at a staff member, and then left. The school was put into lockdown. Six other schools in the area were placed in Secure-the-Building protocol.
More than a dozen police officers arrived at the school and secured the area. Officers cleared the building and it was determined the female suspect was no longer inside. Investigation led police to a residence on the 1300 block of Fleet Street and, just before 11:30 a.m., two youths were arrested there.
Officers located the firearm believed to have been used in this event and determined it to be an Airsoft firearm.
A 13 year-old female will be charged in relation to this incident. An updated news release will follow with further details pertaining to charges upon further investigation.
Regina, Saskatchewan – Update: Suspect in Custody and Lockdowns and Secure the Building protocols are lifted.
Police are currently on the scene of an incident at F.W. Johnson High School. The school is currently in lockdown. Everyone is asked to avoid the area. More updates will be provided as they are available.

*“Secure the Building”: Is a situation where it is believed a threat is currently outside the building resulting in the decision to secure the school whereby all outside doors will be locked to secure the building. Each exterior door is to be monitored by designated school staff until Secure the Building mode has been lifted. Entry and exit of the building will be at the front doors only and are to be monitored by police and school.
