Vehicles impounded for excessive speed; “two vehicles travelling at 156 km/h, speed limit at that location is 70 km/h”

Langley, BC – On September 25th at around 7:00 p.m. Langley RCMP Traffic officer stopped two vehicles travelling at 156 km/h in the 7600 block of 200th Street.

The posted speed limit at that location is 70 km/h. Both drivers held only Class 7 (New Driver) Licenses.

Over the years an abundance of evidence attributes a significant percentage of traffic fatalities in Canada directly related to speeding. This is further aggravated by the increased stopping distance, driver reaction time and the reality of the potential devastating impact with higher speed collisions.
