Places of worship were favorite target of Break & Enter suspect now under arrest

Claresholm, Alberta – After a series of Break, Enter and Mischief complaints, which occurred between August and September, Claresholm RCMP arrested and charged a male on Sept. 27, 2022.

Cody Gorrell (31) , of no fixed address, has been targeting several places of worship and non-profit businesses. The Faith Community Baptist church, the United Church, the Parallel Church, the Anglican Church, the Church of the Nazarene and the Mycitycare non-profit organization were all victims of Gorell’s crime spree.

Cody Gorrell faces numerous criminal charges, including:

· Break, enter and theft x 4

· Mischief under $5000 x5

· Theft under $5000

· Break and Enter x2

· Possession of a controlled substance

· Possession of Break and Enter tools

· Fail to comply with condition of release document

Gorrell has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Lethbridge Provincial court on Sept 30, 2022.
