Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador – We have a winner! Roncalli Central High’s grade seven student, Creighton Williams, was formally presented with a prize package by Assistant Commissioner Jennifer Ebert, Commanding Officer of RCMP NL, in front of his peers and family on Tuesday, September 27 at a ceremony at his school.
With more than 3,300 submissions to the 2022 RCMP Name the Foal nationwide contest, Creighton’s submission “Valour” was selected and assigned to a filly, one of the eleven foals awaiting a name at the RCMP Stables in Ottawa. When asked what prompted him to submit the name “Valour”, Creighton stated that given it meant bravery, he thought it was well suited for a foal with the potential of joining the RCMP Musical Ride.
