Alberta RCMP Major Crimes seeking public assistance in locating male wanted for 2nd Degree Murder in Woodland Cree First Nation

Cadotte Lake, Alberta – On Oct. 4, 2022, at 5:12 a.m., Peace Regional RCMP received a 911 call of a 22-year-old male who had been shot on Woodland Cree First Nation and required medical assistance.

Peace Regional RCMP, along with Emergency Medical Services (EMS), attended the scene where EMS declared the injured male, Emilio Noskey (22), a resident of Woodland Cree First Nation, deceased.

Alberta RCMP Major Crimes took over carriage of the investigation along with the assistance of Peace Regional RCMP, General Investigation Section and the RCMP Forensic Identification Section. An autopsy was conducted at the Edmonton Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the manner of death was determined to be homicide.

As a result of further investigation, on Oct. 5, 2022, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes obtained a warrant for the arrest of Daniel Lane Cardinal (23), of no fixed address and last known to have been a resident of Little Buffalo, Alta., for 2nd Degree Murder. Despite extensive efforts to locate Daniel Lane Cardinal, RCMP have not been able to locate him.

Daniel Lane Cardinal is described as:

· 135 lbs

· 5’9” tall

· Brown eyes

· Black hair

· Medium complexion
