Edson RCMP arrest and charge male for breaking and entering; “fenced oil site compound”

Edson, Alberta – On Oct. 7, 2022, at 9:04 p.m., Edson RCMP received a call of a suspicious person at an oil field site. Edson RCMP officers attended the location, entered the fenced oil site compound and searched the area for any unauthorized persons. A male was located and arrested.

Further investigation indicated the 39-year-old male was bound by previous release conditions related to an incident that had occurred in Hinton on Sept. 25, 2022.

Steven Christopher Long (39), of no fix addressed, was charged with:

· Breaking and Entering – Business

· Breach of Release conditions (X 2)

Long was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance in Edson to speak to bail on Oct. 18, 2022.
