UPDATE #2 – Calgary Police investigate suspicious death in Rundle

Calgary, Alberta – Earlier this week, we charged one woman with manslaughter in relation to the suspicious death of a man in the northeast community of Rundle on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022. The death is now deemed a homicide.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the victim as Carl CROW CHIEF, 26, of Calgary. CROW CHIEF died as a result of an assault.

Following investigation, it is believed this incident was domestic in nature.

Alexis Ronnie JERRY, 18, of Calgary, is charged with one count of manslaughter. JERRY is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022.

We have charged one woman with manslaughter after the suspicious death of a man that occurred in the northeast community of Rundle over the weekend.

Shortly after 12 a.m., on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, police were called to the 100 block of Rundleson Way N.E., for reports that a man had been assaulted.

Upon arrival, first responders located a man who appeared to be severely injured, and despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit now believes this death was the result of a fatal assault. An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at 9 a.m.

Alexis Ronnie JERRY, 18, of Calgary, is charged with one count of manslaughter.

JERRY is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 31, 2022

Police investigate suspicious death in Rundle

We’re currently investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the northeast community of Rundle early this morning that has sadly resulted in the death of a Calgary man.

Shortly after 12 a.m., today, Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, police were called to the 100 block of Rundleson Way N.E., for reports that a man had been assaulted.

Upon arrival, first responders located a man who appeared to be severely injured, and despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As a result, the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is now investigating the circumstances that led to the death.

An autopsy will be scheduled for next week.

If determined to be a homicide, this will mark the 22nd homicide in Calgary this year.
