Edson RCMP investigation led to the arrest and charging of one male for breaking and entering

Edson, Alberta – On Aug. 22, 2022 at 09:13 a.m., Edson RCMP received a report of a break and enter at a local restaurant. The suspects were successful at breaking into the safe in the manager’s officer as well as the ATM on the main floor. Edson RCMP as well as the RCMP Forensic Identification Section attended the location and completed a thorough investigation at the scene. Through evidence gather at the restaurant and with the assistance from the public, in mid October, one suspect was identified and was arrested for this crime.

Allan James Steidel (41), a resident of Alberta Beach, was charged with Breaking and Entering.

Steidel was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Edson Provincial Court on Dec. 6, 2022.

The Edson RCMP is still investigating the possibility that Steidel did not act alone and is asking for anyone with information in regards to this crime to contact the Edson RCMP. If you have any information about this incident or those responsible please call the Edson RCMP at 780-723-8800.
