Maskwacis, Alberta – On Nov. 5, 2022, at 4:22 a.m., Maskwacis RCMP responded to a gun complaint in the Samson Cree Nation town site. Upon arrival, officers located a victim with serious injuries. Unfortunately, despite rescue efforts by responding officers and Emergency Medical Services, the victim was pronounced deceased. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was dispatched and has taken carriage of the investigation.
The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Maskwacis resident Riley Evan Bull.
The victim has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed on Nov. 8, 2022.
