Coquitlam, BC –  This is the face of a very happy man. The unidentified male has been reunited with a large amount of cash he lost while shopping at at Ikea in Coquitlam, British Columbia back on September 11th. The cash was turned into police after it was located by a store employee. On November 14th, police made a media release and the owner of the cash was able to describe the denominations and how the money had been stored. As a result, he was reunited with his cash, and his smile.

BACKGROUND

Coquitlam, BC – Coquitlam RCMP is searching for the rightful owners of a large amount of cash that was found in IKEA located at 1000 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam on September 11, 2022.

The cash was turned into police recently after it was located by a store employee. The cash is believed to have been dropped sometime in early September 2022.

Coquitlam RCMP is also encouraging the public to make police reports if they lose a large sum of cash.

“The finder demonstrated genuine integrity by turning the money over to the police in the hopes that it could be returned to its rightful owners,” said Media Relations Officer Corporal Alexa Hodgins. “Coquitlam RCMP would like to remind the public to report lost large sums of money to the Police to increase the chances of having the money returned.”

To claim the cash, please contact Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2022-29400. Claimants will be required to provide the denominations of the cash and how it was stored to prove ownership.
