Edson, Alberta – On Nov. 7, 2022 at 9:45 a.m., Edson RCMP received a call of a suspicious female sleeping in the woman’s washroom at the Edson Provincial building. An RCMP officer attended the location and found the female in question. When the female was asked to identify herself, the officer had some doubts on the validity of the name she provided. Through physical identifiers, the officer was able to find out her real identity as well as she was wanted on 19 arrest warrants out of Edson and Barrhead.
Katie Coles-Castor (18) a resident of Edson,was arrested for her warrants and for obstructing a police officer. Incidental to her arrest, the officer found what appeared to be fentanyl in one of her pockets. Coles-Castor was brought back to the Edson Detachment for a bail hearing.
In addition to the 19 warrants, Katie Coles-Castor was charged with:
· -Obstruction of a Peace Officer
· -Possession of a Controlled Substance
Coles-Castor was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was released to attend court on Dec. 6, 2022, at Edson Provincial Court.
