Edson RCMP arrest and charge a male for aggravated assault

Edson, Alberta – On Nov. 13, 2022, at 7:55 p.m., the Edson RCMP received a report of a stabbing in the area of 4 Avenue in Edson.

RCMP officers attended the location right away.

The victim advised officers that he had an altercation with the suspect who stabbed him before leaving the scene. Due to his injuries, the victim was transported by ambulance to the Edson hospital in stable condition. The officers immediately started to patrol the area looking for the suspect.

Patrols were kept all night and a warrant for the arrest of the suspect was obtained. The next day, the RCMP located the suspect in Edson and arrested him without any incident.

RCMP believe this was a targeted attack and the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Jerry Findlay (26), of Edson, was charged with Aggravated Assault.

Findlay was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was released to attend court on Dec. 6, 2022, at Edson Provincial Court.
