IHIT deployed in Coquitlam, British Columbia after double fatal shooting

Coquitlam, BC – Coquitlam RCMP is advising the public of a double homicide that occurred in Coquitlam at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

Coquitlam RCMP Front-line officers attended the area of Dawes Hill Road and Mundy Street in Coquitlam after receiving multiple 9-1-1 reports of a possible shooting. Responding officers located multiple shell casings and two unresponsive victims inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced deceased on scene while another was transported to hospital and later succumbed to their injuries.

A third victim was located suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and has since been transported to the hospital.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Coquitlam RCMP.

Police are seeking any witnesses or persons who may have video footage, including dashcam, surveillance or cellphone video to contact investigators.
