Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male after Weapons Incident in Kitchener, Ontario

Waterloo Region, Ontario – On November 27, 2022, at approximately 10:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Ralgreen Crescent and Overlea Drive in Kitchener for a weapons incident.

The victim reported that they were driving their vehicle on Ralgreen Crescent when they were approached by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle pointed a handgun at the victim and then fled the area.

Officers responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle near Westmount Road and Queen’s Boulevard. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized suspected cocaine, a loaded firearm and ammunition.

A 29-year-old Kitchener male was charged with the following:

Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

Unsafe Storage of Firearm

Point Firearm

Careless Use of a Firearm

Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000

Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Possession of a Prohibited Device

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle

Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition

Carry Concealed Weapon

Possession of Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized

The male was held for a bail hearing.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
