Regina, Saskatchewan – A 35 year-old Regina male is facing charges including assault with a weapon after an incident last night in Regina.
At approximately 8:11 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of 12th Avenue for a report of an intoxicated male who was refusing to leave the premises. As officers were en route they received updated information that the male was carrying some sort of bladed weapon. As officers arrived, they observed a male matching the suspect description who appeared to be wielding a machete and threatening another male. Officers ordered him to drop the weapon; the suspect did so and tried to escape on foot. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle on the ground.

Thirty-five year-old Hawk Drake OBEY, of Regina, is charged with:
Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace, s. 88 CC;
Assault with a Weapon, s. 267(a) CC;
Breach of Probation, s. 733.1(1) CC; and
Resist Arrest, s. 129(a) CC.
OBEY made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 (today).
