More than $4000 in drugs seized by London Police Service, man arrested by Downtown Community Foot Patrol

London, Ontario – A London man is facing charges after more than $4000 worth of drugs was seized by police yesterday morning.

At approximately 11 a.m., on Thursday, December 8, 2022, members of the London Police Service Downtown Community Foot Patrol Unit were in the 100-block of Dundas Street when they observed a man known to be wanted on outstanding warrants. When officers arrested the suspect male, he was in possession of several bags containing suspected drugs. The bags were seized.

A search incident to arrest yielded the following:

21.2 grams of suspected fentanyl, value $4,240

46 x hydromorphone pills, value $690

Pepper spray

As a result of the investigation, Shane Douglas Gregory Thompson, 45, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

Two (2) counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking;

Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon; and

Possession of prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order.

The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on December 14, 2022.
