Leduc RCMP Crime Reduction Unit lay charges in mail theft investigation – UPDATED

Leduc, Alberta – Leduc RCMP advise that Lori-Anne Elissa Nixon is in police custody. Thank- you to the media and the public for assisting in this matter.

BACKGROUND

Leduc, Alberta – Leduc RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (LCRU) have charged two people following investigation into theft from mail boxes in Leduc.

On Nov. 24, 2022, LCRU identified two people using video surveillance image captures in relation to break-ins to mail boxes that occurred between Nov. 21, 2022 and Nov. 23, 2022.

LCRU with the assistance of the Leduc Drug Unit and General Duty members, executed a search warrant at a residence in Leduc. As a result, a large quantity of stolen mail and a stolen wallet were recovered. Police also seized break and enter tools and a small quantity of fentanyl.

Roger Cooley Mccann (41), a resident of Leduc, was arrested and charged with the following:

Break and enter to commit theft (X2)

Mischief (x2)

Theft from mail under $5,000. (x2)

Possession of break-in instruments

Fail to comply with release order condition

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Possession of a controlled substance – fentanyl

Following a judicial hearing, Mccann was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in Leduc provincial court on Dec. 15, 2022.

LCRU have also charged Lori-Anne Elissa Nixon (38), a resident of Leduc, with the following:

Break and enter to commit theft

Theft from mail under $5,000

Mischief under $5,000.

Leduc RCMP’s efforts to locate Nixon have been unsuccessful and they have obtained a warrant for her arrest for the above noted charges.

Nixon is described as:

5’1” tall

119 lbs

Green eyes

Black hair
