Drumheller RCMP Arrest Prolific Offender

Drumheller, Alberta – On Dec. 15, 2022, members of Drumheller RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) were conducting proactive operations and investigations on Prolific Offenders within Drumheller and the surrounding area.

At approximately 8:30 pm, a male known to Police was observed at a residence in Morrin. This male was on a Release Order and was found to be preaching those conditions. The male departed the residence in a vehicle, and was intercepted by Drumheller GIS members.

Jeffery Morse (41), a resident of Drumheller was arrested and charged with:

Fail to Comply with Release Order x2

Drive while Unauthorized

The vehicle that Morse was driving was seized for 60 days under the Traffic Safety Act. Morse’s conditions stem from a Release Order dating from Nov. 25, 2022, were he had been charged with a total of 34 Criminal Charges in relation to Drug offences, Property, Weapons, and failure to comply.

Morse was held for a Judicial Interim release hearing, and was remanded as a result of the hearing. Morse is scheduled to appear in Strathmore Provincial Court on December 19, 2022.

“Drumheller RCMP members will continue proactive operations to ensure released offenders are in compliance with Court Orders and held accountable when not,” said Detachment Commander, S/Sgt. Robert Harms. “This arrest is another example of effective policing and another step towards community safety and well-being”.
