Wheatland County, Alberta – On December 15, 2022 at approximately 09:30 a.m. a rural resident reported they received an alert on their home security system indicating their residence had been broken into and the suspects were currently inside. The resident was able to remotely view the suspects in the residence on their home surveillance system. Strathmore RCMP members responded to the residence in the area of Township Road 244 and Range Road 255 and searched the property. The vehicle was towed to a secure location for a further search which uncovered a number of break in tools including a cordless saw and cable cutters. Several propane tanks, illicit drugs, and other electronic devices also believed to be stolen were recovered. An examination of the truck revealed it was comprised of parts from at least three vehicles, the majority of which were established as stolen.
