Brooks RCMP respond to a vehicle theft which led to owner being injured

Brooks, Alberta – On Jan. 17, 2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a vehicle was stolen from a residential area of Brooks, Alta. The vehicle owner briefly left the vehicle to warm up, and upon returning, noticed a male in the vehicle. The owner attempted to stop the suspect, who accelerated and drove away, causing minor injuries to the owner. The suspect showed no regard for the owner or public safety as they fled the scene. Police continue to search the area for the vehicle and suspect.

The vehicle is described as a beige 2004 Toyota Corolla, bearing AB Licence Plate CDN 8566. There is a scratch located on the rear drivers side bumper.

The male suspect is described as:

Light complexion male

He has a round face with a large nose and his skin is described as having acne and looking “weathered”

Approximate age 40-60 years old

Smokes cigarettes

Dark hair, approximately ear length, which is unkept

Stocky build
