Coalhurst, Alberta – On Jan. 16, 2023, Coaldale RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 3 and the entrance to the Town of Coalhurst. The collision happened at approximately 4:59 p.m., when a 30-year-old male driver lost control of his 2023 Kia Rio, drove across the intersection, and ended in the ditch. No one was injured.
On subsequent investigation, the male driver was believed to be intoxicated by alcohol at the time of the crash.
Provincial sanctions for impaired driving were imposed along with violation tickets.
