Lethbridge, Alberta – Lethbridge Police have charged a 37-year-old man in connection with an incident where a male was assaulted in the street and sustained serious injuries.
On Jan. 16, 2023 at approximately 7:47 p.m. police responded to a report of an injured male along the 700 block of 5 Avenue South. The 28-year-old male reported he had been assaulted and was transported to hospital where his condition deteriorated. He was subsequently admitted for treatment of serious head injuries.
Following further investigation police obtained surveillance footage from earlier in the day that showed a male approach the victim in the area of 7 Street South and 4 Avenue South and strike him with a weapon multiple times. The subject and victim are known to one another and the incident was targeted. The subject was located and arrested without incident on Jan. 22, 2023.
Ryan Neale Nepoose, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with one count of aggravated assault. Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing he was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court January 26, 2023.
