Meadow Lake RCMP asking for assistance locating suspect or vehicle after potential attempted abduction on Highway 4

Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan – On January 21, 2023 at approximately 00:05 a.m., Meadow Lake RCMP received the report of a potential attempted abduction.

A motorist travelling south on Highway 4, approximately 40 kilometers south of Meadow Lake, stopped and exited their vehicle to help a man lying on the road next to his truck. When approaching the man, the motorist was grabbed by the arm. The man mentioned having a weapon while reaching into his pocket. The motorist freed themselves and left in their vehicle. The motorist did not report any injuries.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old white man with a black beard and a mullet (longer hair at the back of the head). He was wearing a red plaid shirt over a green shirt and a black hat. The suspect vehicle is described as an older model blue Ford pickup truck with rust on the rear bumper.

Meadow Lake RCMP officers have been investigating and extensively patrolling the area immediately after the report. The suspect and his vehicle have not been located.

Meadow Lake RCMP is asking the public for assistance locating the suspect or his vehicle. If you see the man or his vehicle, please call Meadow Lake RCMP at 306-236-2570.

Meadow Lake RCMP is also asking residents or motorists in the area to check to see if they have captured video footage of the suspect vehicle. If you have video footage of the man or his vehicle, please call Meadow Lake RCMP at 306-236-2570.
