Waterloo Regional Police Seize Firearms and Ammunition after Search Warrant in Wellesley Township

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest and seized several firearms as a result of an investigation in Wellesley Township.

On January 17, 2023, police responded to a call for service at a residence on Ferris Drive.

While at the residence, officers observed several prohibited devices and weapons in plain view.

Investigators applied for a search warrant to seize the devices.

Police later completed a search warrant at the residence and seized 29 firearms, including 17 long guns and 12 handguns. Police also seized 14,500 rounds of ammunition and multiple prohibited devices.

As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old Wellesley male was charged with several firearm-related offences.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on February 22, 2023.
