Wetaskiwin RCMP lay criminal charges after attempting a routine traffic stop

Wetaskiwin, Alberta – On Jan. 25, 2023, at approximately 7:11 a.m., RCMP attempted to pull over a black Dodge Caravan for a traffic safety violation. The Caravan speed off west bound on Hwy 13 from Westaskiwin. Covert units deployed to the area and the vehicle was followed to Red Deer. When the vehicle stopped two individuals were safely apprehended.

Bruce Regie, a 50-year-old residence of Red Deer was charged with;

Flight from police.

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Operation of a vehicle while prohibited.

Fail to comply with release order conditions

Possession of stolen Property (x2)

Possession of break-in tools

Bruce Regie was held in custody with his next court appearance is set for Feb. 2, 2023, at Wetaskiwin Provincial Court

Carrie Markus a 46-year-old residence of Red Deer was charged with;

Possession of stolen property (x2)

Possession of break-in tools

Carrie Markus was released and is to appear in Provincial Court Wetaskiwin on Feb. 23, 2023.
