Edson and Hinton RCMP, joint effort in the arrest of Edmonton male for property offences

Hinton, Alberta – On Jan. 30, 2023, at 6:00 a.m. , a male attended a car dealership in Hinton. Using a brick, the male smashed a window, broke into the building and stole the dealership shuttle vehicle. The male left behind the vehicle he came with, a stolen truck from Edmonton.

Then at 7:06 a.m. , the male attended a car dealership in Edson. Using a rock, the male smashed a window and broke into the dealership. The male stole a vehicle at the Edson dealership, leaving the Hinton vehicle behind.

Officers from the Edson and Hinton RCMP attended the crime scenes. Working together and with the assistance of GPS tracking and surveillance videos, the suspect was located in Hinton. The Hinton RCMP members arrested the suspect and recover the vehicle stolen from Edson.

Christopher Allain Murray (54), a resident of Edmonton, has been charged with:

Breaking Enter – Business (x2)

Mischief Over $5000

Mischief Under $5000

Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Prohibited (x2)

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Murray was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded in custody to appear on Feb 15, 2023, at Hinton Provincial Court.
