Taber, Alberta – On February 1, 2023, at approximately 1:20am, Taber Police responded to a complaint of an unwanted person causing a disturbance in a residence. Police located a female inside the residence, who was acting erratically, and called for EMS to assess the female.
While waiting for EMS, the female attempted to smoke illicit drugs, and Police intervened. The female kicked one officer multiple times, and tried to punch another, before using a lighter in an attempt at starting an officer’s jacket on fire. The female was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Taber Police Service where she was assessed by EMS.
Destiny KAM (27) of Taber was charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer with a Weapon, Assaulting a Peace Officer, and Resisting Arrest. Following a Judicial Interim Release, KAM was remanded into custody for court in Taber on February 7, 2023.
