Spruce Grove, Alberta – On January 27th, 2023, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Parkland RCMP received a complaint regarding a male riding a bicycle and checking vehicle door handles in a Spruce Grove neighborhood. Police immediately attended the area and began patrols.
A short time later, Parkland RCMP received a second complaint regarding an individual that allegedly pointed a firearm at the complainant before fleeing on a bicycle. Police contained the neighbourhood. With the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services and Edmonton Police Service Air One (helicopter), the suspect was successfully arrested and a loaded .22 caliber rifle with sawed-off stock and barrel was recovered.

19-year-old Kaleb Derek Timm, a resident of Onoway, was charged with the following:
Pointing a Firearm;
Assault with a weapon;
Unauthorized possession of firearm;
Possession of a loaded firearm;
Possession of a firearm with tampered serial number;
Common Nuisance.
Kaleb Derek Timm was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was subsequently released on conditions by a Justice of the Peace. He is set to appear next at Stony Plain Provincial Court on Feb. 15, 2023.
Parkland RCMP would like to emphasize that although these types of firearms offences are uncommon in Spruce Grove, this incident should act as a reminder of the importance of reporting crimes to police.
