Boyle RCMP recover stolen property following search warrant

Boyle, Alberta – On Feb. 3, 2023, Boyle RCMP executed a search warrant at a rural property in the County of Athabasca as a result of an ongoing investigation. Boyle RCMP, with the assistance of the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, seized a significant amount of stolen property from the location, which included:

Freightliner Conventional semi-tractor

International semi-tractor

Ford F-350

Ford SRW

GMC Sierra

2 Ski-Doo snowmobiles

Arctic Cat snowmobile

Polaris Sportsman ATV and trailer

As a result of the search warrant, Zane Curtis Bronson (36), a resident of the County of Athabasca, was charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 (x9)

Geordie Vern Wilson (35), a resident of the County of Thorhild, was also charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Kyle James Conlon (39) of no fixed address, was arrested on several outstanding warrants for charges that included:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 x3

Theft of motor vehicle

Fraudulent concealment

Tampering with a vehicle identification number

Bronson, Conlon, and Wilson were all remanded into custody following Judicial Interim Release hearings. Bronson is scheduled to appear at Boyle Provincial Court on February 14, 2023. Conlon is scheduled to appear at Edmonton Provincial Court on February 8, 2023. Wilson is scheduled to appear at Boyle Provincial Court on February 14, 2023.

“This represents a significant seizure of stolen property and we are happy to return these items to their rightful owners,” says Boyle RCMP Detachment Operations NCO Cpl. Gavin Bergey. “The Boyle RCMP will continue to target prolific offenders and disrupt criminal activity in our detachment area.”

As these matters are now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
