33-year-old man facing charges following reports of assaults and sexual assaults at several locations in Prince Albert on Saturday

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – At approximately 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, police were dispatched to a report of an assault at a business in the 2600 Block of 2nd Avenue West. A woman reported that a man had forced her into a room and assaulted her before fleeing.

As officers investigated, police received a report of a sexual assault at another business in the area involving a man matching the description of the suspect from the earlier complaint, followed by a report of voyeurism involving the same suspect at another location at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Officers located and arrested the suspect soon after in the 3600 Block of 2nd Avenue West. Gary Janvier, 33, is facing numerous charges, including forcible confinement, sexual assault, assault with a weapon, resisting a peace officer, and breach of court order.

Upon further investigation, the accused is also charged with sexual assault and assault with a weapon in connection with an incident in the 1800 Block of Central Avenue the morning of Saturday, February 18.

Janvier made his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court this week. [Information 991223440, 991223554]
