Regina Police charge 64-year-old male after woman choked, threatened with death and sexually assaulted

Regina, Saskatchewan – On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at approximately 1:50 a.m., police were dispatched to a business on the 4100 block of 5th Avenue for the report of a recent sexual assault.

Police arrived and located the victim, a 41 year-old female, and it was learned that she entered a vehicle on the 1100 block of Angus Street, and was sexually assaulted. The assailant choked the victim and threatened to kill her. After the assault the victim was able to escape the vehicle in the area of Wascana Street and 5th Avenue, where she ran to a business to call police.

Police observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area and a vehicle stop was performed. Evidence of the assault was observed, and the male was arrested and charged.

Sixty-four year-old Eugene LARAMEE, of Regina, is charged with:

Sexual Assault [CC 271];

Uttering Threats [CC 264.1(1)(A)]; and

Aggravated Sexual Assault with Choking [CC 272.1(C.1)].

LARAMEE made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, February 27, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
