Virden RCMP searching for armed and dangerous suspect – ARRESTED

Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, Manitoba – Seril Mazawasicuna has been arrested. The RCMP thanks the public and media for their assistance.

BACKGROUND

Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, Manitoba – At approximately 9:15pm, on February 24, 2023, Virden RCMP received a report of an injured person, being held against their will by a male, on Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation.

The investigation led officers to a residence on Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, where the victim was located but the male suspect fled prior to police arrival.

A Warrant of Arrest for Seril Mazawasicuna, 32, from Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, has been issued in relation to this incident. He is described as 6’1″, 200 lb, with black hair and brown eyes.

He is currently facing 16 charges, including:

– Assault with a weapon

– Forcible confinement

– Pointing a firearm

– Assault Causing bodily harm

Seril Mazawasicuna is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. He is believed to be possession of firearms and is actively evading police.
