Leduc, Alberta – Alberta RCMP Traffic – Leduc lay charges in relation to stolen truck following traffic stop on 50 Avenue in Leduc.

On Feb. 17, 2023, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a member of the Alberta RCMP Traffic – Leduc was conducting traffic enforcement on 50 Avenue in Leduc A licence plate query of a truck in the area showed the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Camrose, Alta. on Feb. 13, 2023. A traffic stop was initiated on the truck in the area of 50 Avenue and QEII in Leduc and the driver and passenger were arrested.

A search incidental to arrest resulted in the seizure of 28.6 grams of methamphetamine and a small quantity of cocaine and fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation, Kiara Lynne Nathan (24), a resident of Leduc, was charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Following a judicial hearing, Nathan was remanded into custody. She is next scheduled to appear in Leduc provincial court on March 23, 2023.

Lori-Anne Elissa Nixon (39), a resident of Leduc, was charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine

Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

Possession of scheduled substance – Fentanyl

Following a judicial hearing, Nixon was released from custody. She is next scheduled to appear in Leduc provincial court on March 23, 2023.
