Police investigating suspicious double death in north Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating the suspicious death of a man and a woman that occurred yesterday evening in north Edmonton.

On Tuesday, Mar. 7, 3023, at approximately 7:35 p.m., police responded to the report of a weapons complaint in the area of 132A Avenue and 66 Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year old male and a 21-year-old female in a vehicle suffering from serious injuries. EMS responded, however, the pair succumbed to their injuries on scene.

Homicide Section is now leading the investigation and autopsies are scheduled for Thursday, March 9, and Friday, March 10.

Detectives are hopeful that dash camera footage from the area may assist with their investigation and are encouraging anyone that was driving in the area of 66 Street and 132 Avenue on Tuesday Mar. 7, 2023, between the hours of 7:15 p.m. and 7:50 p.m., to please contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Investigators are also asking for anyone with residential CCTV from that area over that time frame to contact police.
