RCMP lays Charges on Ground Control snow removal fraud

Kings County, Prince Edward Island – Kings District RCMP has laid 18 counts of Fraud Under $5000 against Craig Robert Burley and Stephanie Teshia Marie Smith of New Perth PEI, concerning the snow removal company Ground Control. Eighteen customers reported purchasing snow removal services that were not received.

In late December of 2022, RCMP in Kings District began an investigation into the company Ground Control. Police had received complaints from customers across Prince Edward Island who purchased snow removal services and believed they had been defrauded after not receiving services. Customers reported that Burley and Smith made misrepresentations regarding their snow removal business. Burley and Smith will appear in court on March 16th in Georgetown Provincial Court.
