Police investigating suspicious death in northeast Edmonton

Edmonton, Alberta – The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating the suspicious death of a male that occurred in northeast Edmonton earlier this morning.

Northeast Branch patrol officers responded to a weapons complaint north of 144 Avenue and 72 Street at approximately 6:25 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 15, 2023.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male lying on the street. EPS Homicide Section detectives have since taken over the investigation. The Edmonton Medical Examiner has yet to schedule an autopsy.

Investigators are encouraging anyone that was driving in the area of 144 Avenue and 72 Street this morning (March 15, 2023) between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to check their dashcam video for anything suspicious and contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Investigators are also asking for anyone with residential video footage from that area over that time frame to also contact police.
