Leduc RCMP charge driver after receiving complaints of dangerous driving

Leduc, Alberta – On March 19, 2023, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Leduc RCMP received multiple reports of a blue truck operating at high rates of speed during high pedestrian and vehicle traffic times through the residential area of Southfork in Leduc.

With the assistance of witnesses who provided updates on the vehicle’s location, Leduc RCMP located the blue truck abandoned in a residential area under development. Police learned the suspect fled on foot.

Members of Leduc RCMP made patrols, located and arrested the driver near Highway 2 in Leduc.

A 20-year-old male, a resident of Surrey, B.C., was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code. He was released from custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on April 13, 2023.

“The public played a significant role in removing a dangerous driver from our streets,” says Sgt. C. Paul. “The initial calls we received provided us the information that assisted police to identify the truck and subsequently the dangerous driver.”

Leduc RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
