Chateh, Alberta – On March 28, 2023, at 1:30 a.m., Chateh RCMP responded to a report that a residence in Chateh had been shot at. Upon arrival, officers observed 3 bullet holes inside as well as multiple shell casings outside. Fortunately, no occupants of the residence were injured. Witnesses described seeing a white car in the area at the time of the shooting.

Later the same day at 11:33 a.m., RCMP responded to a report of a bullet hole found inside a residence. Occupants of the residence advised the previous evening, around 5:00 p.m. they heard a loud bangs. The next morning while cleaning the house they found a bullet hole inside the house. No one was injured in this shooting. Witnesses described seeing a white, 4 door truck in the area at the time of the shooting.
Chateh RCMP’s investigation into both shootings continues. Additionally, officers are determining if these shootings are related to two pervious ones reported on Feb. 17 and 23. Police are seeking any witnesses who may have information in regards to all of these incidents.

Chateh RCMP investigate two shootings
Chateh, Alta. – Chateh RCMP are currently investigating two separate shootings, and they believe both incidents are targeted and related.
On Feb. 17, 2023, RCMP responded to a 911 call at a residence in Chatah. Upon arriving at the residence, officers located a 38-year-old male who had been shot. Witnesses described a dark coloured car in the area at the time of the shooting.
On Feb. 23, 2023, RCMP responded to a report from a male that someone had just shot at his house. No one was injured during this incident and witnesses described seeing a dark coloured SUV in the area at the time of the shooting.
Chateh RCMP’s investigation into both shootings continues and police are seeking any witnesses who may have information in regards to either shooting.
