Edson, Alberta – Edson RCMP are investigating a string of arsons that have occurred in and around Edson and Yellowhead County. Since March 10, 2023, RCMP have investigated 6 such arsons which have included, wood logs, an old recreational bus, stored tires, a play set, 3 town of Edson vehicles and an abandoned church that sustained minor damage.
The Edson RCMP General Investigative Section has been deployed to assist with the investigations. RCMP are looking into the possibility that some or all of these fires were set by the same person.
“These fires are troubling for our community and we are ensuring that the proper resources are being deployed to investigate this matter,” says Edson Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Christian Delisle.
