Tataskweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba – On April 2, 2023, at 11:05 pm, Thompson Rural RCMP received a report of a structure fire at a residence located on Airport Road, in Tataskweyak Cree Nation (Split Lake).
RCMP, along with the local fire department, attended the scene.
Once the fire was brought under control and extinguished, firefighters entered the home and located a 25-year-old female who was pronounced deceased.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Thompson Rural RCMP, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.
