Cochrane, Alberta – Cochrane RCMP advise that further charges have been pursued as a result of the fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on Highway 1A near Morley Road on Aug. 19, 2022, at approximately 7:35 p.m. As a result of this collision, 53-year-old Samantha Wylie, a Fort Saskatchewan resident, was declared deceased at the scene.

Deirdre Snow (29), a resident of Stoney Nakoda First Nation, has been charged with the following:
Impaired operation causing death
Impaired operation causing bodily harm
Impaired operation while over 80 mg% causing death
Impaired operation while over 80 mg% causing bodily harm
Public mischief
Snow was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and she was released on conditions for Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on May 2, 2023.

Cochrane RCMP on scene at serious motor vehicle collision – Update #2
Cochrane, Alta. – Cochrane RCMP have laid charges as a result of the fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on Highway 1A near Morley Road on Aug. 19, 2022, at approximately 7:35 p.m. As a result of this collision, 53-year-old Samantha Wylie, a Fort Saskatchewan resident, was declared deceased at the scene.
A 33-year-old female resident of Morley, Alta., has been charged with the following offences:
· Operation while impaired by alcohol causing death (over 0.08)
· Operation while impaired causing death
· Operation while impaired by alcohol causing bodily harm (over 0.08)
· Operation while impaired causing bodily harm
· Driver in accident fail to remain at scene
· Drive while suspended or disqualified
After a judicial hearing, the female was released from custody on conditions and will be appearing in Cochrane Provincial court on Aug. 30, 2022, at 9 a.m.
The investigation continues and Cochrane RCMP are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision and/or who may have dash cam/video footage.

Cochrane RCMP on scene at serious motor vehicle collision – Update #1
Cochrane, Alta. – On August 19, 2022 at approximately 7:35 pm, Cochrane RCMP along with Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Highway 1A near Morley Road involving a motorcycle and SUV. Investigation reveals that the SUV was traveling West oh Highway 1A when it crossed with yellow center line and collided head on with the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old female from Fort Saskatchewan was declared deceased at the scene.
The investigation into this collision continues. Our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Cochrane RCMP on scene at serious motor vehicle collision
Cochrane, Alta. – Cochrane RCMP are currently on scene at a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 1A. Be advised Highway 1A is currently closed between Morley Road and Highway 1X.
The RCMP Collision Reconstructionist is attending the scene. RCMP are asking people to avoid that area.
