Cochrane, Alberta – On April 9, 2023, at 3:18 a.m., Cochrane RCMP responded to a 911 call of a male observed entering and stealing from motor vehicles in the community of Fireside in Cochrane, Alta. RCMP located a male matching the description of the same male walking in the area. Video surveillance confirmed this male to have been driving a stolen vehicle and stealing from other motor vehicles.
Gregory Deviat (34), a resident of Cochrane, has been charged with the following:
Carrying a concealed weapon
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Possession of a controlled substance
Fail to comply with release order
Deviat has been remanded into custody and will appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on April 18, 2023.
