Leduc RCMP see increase in theft of licence plates

Leduc, Alberta – Leduc RCMP have seen a 16% increase in theft of licence plates. From Oct. 2021 through March 2022, there were 45 reports of stolen licence plates compared to Oct. 2022 through March 2023 where there were 52 reports of stolen licence plates.

In an effort to prevent any further theft of licence plates, the RCMP are encouraging the public to follow these crime prevention tips:

Park in a secure well-lit location

Walk around your vehicle regularly

Use an anti-theft licence plate screw

If your licence plate is lost or stolen, report it immediately
