Portage la Prairie, Manitoba – On April 20, 2023, at approximately 11:25 pm, RCMP responded to a house fire, on 6th Avenue NE, in Portage la Prairie.
When RCMP arrived on scene they located the lone occupant of the home, a 56-year-old male, who had escaped the fire with minor injuries.
The Portage la Prairie Fire Department attended and began to extinguish the fire.
Two dogs and a cat died in the fire.
The initial investigation indicates the fire is suspicious.
