Athabasca RCMP on scene of wildfire at Alberta Highway 55 between Range Road 212 and Range Road 221

Athabasca, Alberta – (7:06 PM) Athabasca RCMP are currently on scene assisting Athabasca and supporting fire departments with a wildfire at Hwy 55 between Range Road 212 and Range Road 221.

The area is uninhabited however, emergency crews are reporting difficulties accessing the area due to a sudden increase in traffic.

RCMP ask that the public avoid the area to allow emergency responders unfettered access to roads and access routes.
