Grande Prairie RCMP charge males following an identity theft investigation

Grande Prairie, Alberta – Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested one male and recovered a fraudulently purchased vehicle

On April 12th, 2023, Grande Prairie RCMP received a report of a vehicle that had been fraudulently purchased through identity theft. Police were contacted by a witness who informed that they believed someone had impersonated an individual they knew and used their identity to purchase a Hyundai Santa Fe valued at over $45000.

Police were able to intercept the delivery of the vehicle and arrested the lone male suspect.

Justin Heaven (38) a resident of Grande Prairie has been charged with:

-Fraud greater than $5000

-Identity fraud

-Possession of a controlled substance

Following a judicial release hearing, Heaven was released to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on May 17, 2023.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further update or details surrounding the incident will be provided.
