Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – A report of an armed man in public led to a significant police response this morning.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. today, May 5, 2023, several police units responded to the area of Kloppenburg Way near Kloppenburg Link for a report of an armed man. Nearby schools were immediately placed into a perimeter lockdown.
Further investigation by members of Communications and Patrol led police to confirming the man to be in a position authorized to carry a firearm.
There was no threat to public safety and the perimeter lockdowns have since been lifted.
