Edmonton Homicide detectives charge two suspects in 2012 historical homicide investigation

Edmonton, Alberta – The EPS Historical Crimes Section have charged two people in relation to the 2012 homicide of Chad Jordan Swanson.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, police responded to the report of suspicious circumstances in a cul-de-sac in the area of 167 Avenue and 113 Street. Upon arrival, officers located Swanson deceased in a black Chevy Tahoe with a visible bullet hole in the windshield. Investigators quickly determined that Swanson was the victim of homicide.

Investigators have since charged 54-year-old Kevin Terrence Collins and 51-year-old Nedralynn Dawn Collins with first degree murder. Detectives believe this homicide was targeted as Mr. Swanson knew both accused.

“Our investigators never gave up hope and worked tirelessly over the last decade to identify the two responsible for the homicide of Mr. Swanson,” says S/Sgt. James Vanderland of the Historical Crimes Section.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in court on May 17, 2023.
