Paul Band First Nation, Alberta – Second Degree Murder charge has been laid in relation to the death of a Paul Band First Nation resident.
On May 2, 2023, 33 year-old Saundra Bearhead was discovered by police suffering from a serious knife wound injury. Saundra was transported to an Edmonton hospital but succumbed to her injuries on May 7, 2023.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit entered into a homicide investigation and, as a result of evidence collected, Blake Bird, age 28, was arrested. Bird has been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder. Bird has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance in Stony Plain Provincial Court on May 10, 2023.
